Potluck Dinners

The evening before a race, rowers will meet at a fellow rower’s home, the “HOST FAMILY’ for dinner. The rowers will arrive after practice, eat, have their boat meetings then leave. Rowers should leave at about 8:30 to give them time to get home and get a good nights rest.

WHAT TO BRING: Each rower is responsible for bringing an ENTRÉE FOR FOUR. (i.e., pasta, casseroles, chicken, fish, meat dishes, rice dishes, bean dishes, vegetables (steamed or baked), fruit, pasta salads, green salads, healthy dips with bread, crackers or veggies, wraps, small meat or veggie sandwiches). Just make sure it is healthy.

  • Please do not bring whole items that need to be cut up, i.e., chickens.
  • No soups
  • Host provides paper plates, napkins, utensils and water.
  • Put your name on your serving dish or, preferably, use a disposable serving dish. Serving dishes left at the Host house will be disposed of. It is the responsibility of each rower to leave potluck with his/her serving dish.
